This evening, at 18:42, Singh discovered one of the Neuroclast subjects in Espionage HQ Sector B. E Watson was aprehended and remanded to the Memory Cradle for interrogation. You can read the incident report here.

Through use of the Fracture Garden, Novak discovered that Watson was a sleeper agent who activated once onboard Mnemosyne. To be clear, this was a targeted, remote triggered agent. Initial screening to bring her aboard did not raise any flags and it is my belief that this could not have been detected beforehand.

Arguably more importantly, Novak uncovered the following information:
• Two node locations: Vuelta Grande, Guatemala and Inhaca, Mozambique

• The names of three other sleeper agents

• The location of an Antarctic bunker. The bunker is believed to contain plans for something unknown that the Architects do not want us to get our hands on. Our disruption of Xitang has intensified their determination.

We'll be launching an immediate investigation into this bunker. Schade, Finotti: you'll be handing off your Sighișoara assignment and deploying on this instead. Hache, Murphy, and Wijk: you'll be accompanying them. Your objective is to retrieve whatever is in that bunker.

Novak, Bhandari, Rojo: you'll be walking the other Neuroclast subjects through the Garden. I don't want any other surprises from them.

NOVAK, SINGH.
Good work.

It’s […] odd. I feel a bit stupid for not realizing she might not have been, though I know that’s the point of being undercover. I want to be glad to have a chance to, and I am, but […]

In my mind, I had assumed she’d only become unVeiled after all this. And now she could be on board in a few weeks.

you shouldn’t feel stupid for that. impressed, maybe. you have to be very good to fool your own daughter when she’s as smart as you. […] i’m sure it wasn’t an easy choice to maintain her cover when she was so close to being able to talk to you in a real way.

it’s always been comforting to me to think the world may end before i ever have to deal with my problems. […] but it’s probably better to do it. if you can.

Maybe. There were plenty of reasons to not want to talk to me about certain things, even if she’d been allowed to.

You don’t feel they weigh more heavily because there may never be resolution?

plenty of reasons to want to talk to you too, though.

i think maybe the threat of having to deal with them is worse for me than the idea of never doing so.

I would like a little more time to come around to that.

Do you think it’d go badly?

maybe your dad can delay her arrival somehow.

i’m not sure. it’s hard to imagine anyone i know from […] my life as unveiled. or what that would look like. i’ve only ever known most people under the veil.

I’m sure he’d try if he were up here. He was deployed this morning.

Unveiling is a brutal process. It’s hard to predict how anyone could handle it, especially if you’d only known them under it.

maybe he’ll be back before she’s sent up.

it’s hard not to und […] exactly.

Ideally. I don’t think he had enough time to be […] annoyed about it first.

It’s alright to not want to deal with it. But if the opportunity comes up, you probably should.

hopefully both of you end up with enough time to process.

if the opportunity comes up, i don’t think i’ll have a choice.

Alternatively, I could just process indefinitely.

No. It always circles back somehow.
