Right.

Thanks to Jiah and Mav, we now have signals of the blowback Verin cautioned us against. Can’t say for sure they’re connected, but sure as shit feels like it.

While others work on the Harvest situation, I’m setting up a joint meeting in E1 at 17:00 tonight with Battlest, Information, Engineering and Tech to address three main issues:

  1. How we’re going to reliably track the approaching vessels at range and altitude, including getting useful data about their makeup so we can get ahead of how to take the fuckers out of the sky.
  2. Whether our current aircraft and tech can reach and operate high enough to intercept — and if not, what Engineering needs to modify to get them there and the time to get there.
  3. If item two is impossible and too risky with the timeline and size of our fleet, where and how do we meet them.

Because this impacts us all, Heads of these areas are required but all are free to attend, so keep stupid questions or ideas to yourself come prepared.

Did I forget anything?

Yes, good initial thoughts. Different gravitational pull and fuel usage factors. We can overcome these; it's just a matter of whether we can do it this quickly.

I mean, we're not reaching orbital altitude any time soon with these, but if we can extend the range of manoeuvrability, then we're on to something.

Not yet, but at this rate, as we are working in thinner air and at higher altitude, we might be able to factor it in rather than having to mod again if we can manage it.

And how to protect those flying them.

That is a given. Always protecting the pilots.
